Day 12 - Prachur's Birthday

Day 12 Thursday August 25

We had a relaxed drive today from Adiyaman to Cappadocia. Leaving at 10.45 am, we had a bio break in an area famous for its Marash ice cream which all of us enjoyed. We had vanilla tops with pistachios

Today is Prachur's birthday. He is a thorough gentleman and one of the nicest people I know. We celebrated his birthday while having lunch at Kucuke restaurant in Kahramanmaras

We reached MDC hotel in Cappadocia at 7.45 pm. Cappadocia is an area, not a town or city with 4 small towns around, our hotel is in Urgup, another town is Goreme. Our hotel is built like a cave and although all rooms are different, it has all the facilities of a top class hotel.

A note about the luggage, we are carrying 5 bags. Two large bags have our clothes, one is full of foodstuff and 2 are cabin bags. We keep 2 days' worth of clothes in the cabin bag and take that one from the car to the hotel room. The other small bag has my laptop, tablet, all sorts of cables, camera, money, passports etc. When we stay for 2 nights at one place and if we have to do laundry, only then we carry all the bags to the room.

We had dinner with the group at the open air Prokopi restaurant. There was good Turkish food. For us, the starters and dips are good enough as almost all the mains have meat in them.
