Day 34 - Helsinki to Oulu

Day 34 Friday September 16

We checked out in the morning from Hotel Indigo, Helsinki which was the 19th hotel we had stayed on this trip. Today we have a long driving day to Oulu.

In all the places that we have visited, the hotels are always in the city centre which makes it very convenient to move around on foot or any other mode of transport. All kinds of restaurants are easily found and reachable here. Parking which is an expensive and challenging issue is also taken care of.

From Iran moving westward till reaching Poland we were comfortable wearing T-shirts but as we started going northward towards the Baltic states, the weather became colder. Jackets and thick shirts came out of the bags and once we crossed over into Finland we are all wearing thermals and woolen clothes. Just a month back we were in places as hot as 45⁰ C and right now it is cold at 8⁰ C

Passing through some great scenery we did a quick photo stop at a picturesque lake.

We reached Hotel Radisson Blu Oulu at 7.15 pm and then had dinner at Garam Masala restaurant.
